“Once I lose this weight, I’ll be happy!”

“When my hair reaches my waist, I’ll be beautiful!”

“With more confidence, I’ll never be unhappy again!”

Many people think that achieving major goals will automatically make them happy. They think a smaller clothes size, longer hair, or a healthier mind will change their lives overnight. It won’t.

Yes, your life will improve. You’ll do things you’ve always dreamed of doing but never felt brave enough to try. However, keep in mind that your ultimate goal will not end all your problems. Just because you’re slimmer it doesn’t mean you won’t have days when you feel ugly. Just because you’ve found a new lover it doesn’t mean there won’t be days when he makes you mad. Just because your hair looks fabulous it doesn’t mean you’ll never have a bad hair day again.

Don’t be pessimistic or overly optimistic- be realistic!

Know that your lifetime goal is just the beginning. We have decades on this earth, so aim to accomplish as much as you possibly can. If you fail, keep trying until you succeed.

One final thing: be ‘happy’ before you succeed.

Good health journeys never end, so if you’re waiting to meet happiness at your destination then you’ll waiting forever. Enjoy your body now, enjoy your hair now, enjoy your mind as it is.
