IVORY BLOGS

Welcome to Healthy Black Queens. My name is Ivory, and I started this website for black women who want to defy the stereotype that we don’t care about living a healthy lifestyle. Here I will help you work towards a healthy mind and body, and you can also focus on having fabulous hair to match it.

My mission began as the blog Healthy Sisters Unite and evolved into the HBQ website. I wanted to combine my time on hair care forums and websites with my weight loss success to provide a resourceful place for other women in need.

You have seen the way black women are portrayed in the media. Always loud, aggressive in a negative way, and left feeling unwanted because it is wrongly assumed that black men seek other races. We are meant to feel like we are the lowest of the low- beneath every race and both genders, we sit at the bottom. NOT anymore!

It is up to us to change this terrible perception. Whether you are a black woman or anyone else in contact with black girls, please bookmark this website and spread the word.
