Britain is free from recession…Yeah, right!

The British Government expects us to believe that we are now free from the recession. Once again, those in power treat us like we’re fools. After job losses, fear of spending, bankruptcies, debt management plans, houses sold for MUCH less than they’re worth, and young people unable to get on the housing market, the recession ended at 9:30am yesterday. Just like it! Isn’t it amazing? A year spiralling downhill ended in one second.

Of course this is just an excuse to get us to spend more money. Of course most Britons aren’t stupid enough to go out and actually do that. After years of being carefree, we’ve learnt our lessons now. It’s sad that small/medium businesses will suffer or shut down, but it’s every man for himself. Unlike the Government, we cannot just print off more money. We have to earn it all day! Then someone comes in and swipes off 40% for tax purposes, and then taxes us every time we buy anything.

Free from the recession? Yeah, Gordon Brown, whatever you say…

Ban the burka?

France is stepping closer to banning the burka…Do you want your country to follow suit?

I wouldn’t want the UK to ban the burka. I disagree with it, but I wouldn’t ban it. However, it would be obligatory to show your face to officials at the airport. Religion or not, it needs to be done. If body scans are okay, then showing your face should be mandatory too. If you don’t like it, you don’t travel.

This anger against Muslims has been building up for a while now. Certain cases, like a Muslim man who refused to sell alcohol at the supermarket, do reflect badly on the rest of the Muslim community. Then the fury over the Muhammad cartoons, even though Jesus has been mocked in cartoons over the years, like on South Park, went too far. I understand that they wanted to stand up for themselves, but burning buildings and trying to kill people is too much.

As usual, religion creates more and more divisions.

Money or aid?

Are black people an easy target?

After the horrific tragedy in Haiti, where 100,000 at least may have died, a fool emerges on American screens. Pat Robertson claims that the Haitian Revolution, which helped end slavery, was supported by….Satan. Yes, the man downstairs.

Of course those weak, useless negroes could not free themselves. Of course those worthless scum had to seek aid from the Devil, because they were so stupid that they could not fight for their freedom alone. Duh!

Why accuse the slaves of working with the Devil? Why not accuse the slave masters putting black people through hell for 400 years? Tearing them away from loved ones, packing them on ships for months on end, selling them when they reach land, and then they’re raped, hanged, whipped, and sold again and again for centuries. That doesn’t sound very Christian like. That sounds like the Devil to me.

Pat, sit down.

Let’s see how far this story travels. When Muslims were insulted by the Muhammad bomb cartoon, they got apologies from around the world. Jews are rich and powerful in this world, so they get more respect and memorials for the dead than anyone else. Black people get nothing but more and more abuse. If you complain, you’re playing the ‘race card’. When do we stand up and say, “Enough is enough, damn it!” We never do. The excuse is always, “There’s bigger fish to fry” but when the ‘bigger fish comes along, the excuse rolls round again.

Pat? Yeah, sit down, you old fool. You don’t want those Devil worshippers to use voodoo dolls and witchcraft to get your backside…

Matthew gained Tiffany, but lost Michelle

You know how Tiffany Evans just hired Beyonce’s dad as her manager? Well, she may be filling in for someone else because..Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child fame has left the Music World building!

FINALLY it happened!! I always thought she’d do it before Kelly, but at least it’s happened. She has to start her career from the bottom, almost like a newbie, but this is just the beginning. Her last album, Unexpected, was 9.5/10 for me, and it sucks that millions won’t ever hear it. There’s no point in putting effort into something that your supposed support doesn’t, you know, SUPPORT. Now she’ll go elsewhere and do something special.

You can see the difference in Kelly’s career. In just one year she’s done so much more than she ever did with Music World (Matthew Knowles management). Once Michelle’s successful stint on broadway ends- she’s in Chicago- her album should be ready for the number one slot on Billboard.

2010 is shaping up rather well for music.
