Copied from Ivory’s Intellect blog:

Hi Ivory!

It's interesting that your name is Ivory because I've only known ONE Ivory in this world and that was my god-daughter who is about 22 now.

Hmmm...there are two girls named Ivory in the world?? Wow.

She spells her name "Ivorie" though.

Anyway...

I do agree with your points about Kelis... she should be deeply embarrassed about putting herself in a position to beg a man to support her.

Peace, blessings and DUNAMIS!

Yeah the rumor I heard was that he cheated on her. I agree with you about not doing the team up thing so as not to be left high and dry, but I think it's a damn shame to have a partner that you can't trust. I speak as a one who has been left high and dry and I'll never do it again unless he's filthy rich and then I'll (sadly) be padding my bank account to make sure I'm good if he decided to act a fool

Copied from Ivory’s Intellect blog:

Divorce is suchj a horrible thing, and I wish it wasnt happening to them. But I also do ponder exactly what went on the relationship to make them come to the point of divorce. Rumors are flying about Nas being Gay and cheating on Kelis with both men & women. And then there are rumors of Kelis cheating on Nas. This is just crazy-I hope the baby will not be affected bt none on their charades.
One more thing-I like Kelis-She cannot be broke-she now must live within her means thats all-and she feels salty that all of this is in the public eye. She will be fine.

You made some good points. Plus weren't there rumours that he cheated and/or was verbally abusive? If the guy did something like that then I'd probably take him to the cleaners myself.

I just wouldn't want to do the 'team up' thing because I'd be scared of being left high and dry.

Copied from Ivory's Intellect blog:

I think because we weren't there we don't know key details that would help us judge this situation clearly. What if he encouraged her to not work and do other things and to just be by his side and have his back? There is nothing wrong with a woman holding down the home while the man earns the money or vice versa. I think they came up with the rule of the non working mate getting half for a reason. Of course he should help her maintain the lifestyle she is now comfortable with, she would be terribly harrassed in the hood and her son would risk being kidnapped or God knows what in the "hood" where some people will do whatever to get money.

I agree with you that people should earn the lifestyle they want, but I also don't have a problem with people who "team" up and decide that one will take care of home and the other will earn money.
